Pre-K --New Program Offering

Austwell-Tivoli ISD will for the first time offer a 

Pre-K Program for our children

 


Eligibility: A child is eligible for enrollment in a free prekindergarten if he or she is at least four years of age by Sept. 1, and also meets at least one of the following criteria:

  • Unable to speak or comprehend the English language;
  • Educationally disadvantaged- eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program;
  •  Homeless;
  • The child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or the reserves, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority;
  • The child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or reserves, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty;
  • Is in, or ever have been in foster care

  IF A CHILD MEETS THE AGE REQUIREMENT BUT DOES NOT QUALIFY IN OTHER CRITERIA-HE OR SHE WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM IF ROOM IS AVAILABLE

Registering: To register for prekindergarten parents will need to bring the following information:

  • Child’s official birth certificate
  • Child’s immunization records
  • Child’s Social Security card
  • Legal papers (from divorce or separation)
  • Proof of residency,(i.e. a utility bill –water, electricity)
  • Proof of income or documentation of earnings
  • Photo identification of parent or guardian who is registering the child
